Being Part of It…

One of the points I realize, days after days after animating my workshops is that much of our media today is filled with stories that are intended to induce fear when Nature is part of the story. People are becoming more fearful of the natural world as they become removed from it…

I’m really concerned, as a Nature Photographer, in reconnecting people with the natural world and explain we are participants more than spectators. Our search for magical places or magical light will lead us to pristine Nature few others have ever reached. This quest give us the opportunity to experience things that the average person will likely never make the effort to see : simple things as a sunrise on the beach or mist on a meadow of wildflowers.

My job of Landscape Photographer helps me become a more positive and courageous person. Get the rare image pushes me to fight again any kind of fear of hiking alone through the wilderness to get it. Spending time in the outdoors is becoming something hazardous nowadays if you refer to urban media. But is it the truth ? Spending hours alone in the wilderness is really nothing to be fearful of ! the chance of being attacked by anything, animal or human is almost null. I have been hiking in Denali – Alaska for days and days… I have encountered wolves , grizzlies, and mooses and never had the least problem… The key is to understand what is your place in the environment, and then, what are your rights… you will then  feel humility and proudness together to belong to the whole picture…
